Pitkittääkseen peliä mustan tosin tarvitsisi uhrata melkein kaikki upseerinsa: 1...Kh7 2.d5 Dxf2+ 3.Kxf2 Tg8 4.Ld3+ Rg6 5.hxg6+ fxg6 6.De7+ Lf7 7.Dxf7+ Tg7 8.Dxg7#.
